Drinking, Eating and Mobilising (DrEaMing) within 24 hours of major surgery is a simple, patient-centred intervention that is associated with decreased length of stay for patients and a lower rate of late postoperative complications.

The DrEaMing CQUIN has been commissioned by NHS England for 2023/2024. The updated CQUIN includes a wider range of surgical specialties and a revised threshold of 80%, to ensure even more patients Drink, Eat and Mobilise after surgery. The National Perioperative Quality Improvement Programme, PQIP, (www.pqip.org.uk) is committed to supporting Trusts join this CQUIN and to reach the 80% threshold. Join our next PQIP collaborative webinar on 7th March at 1pm to find out more.

We will also be launching the new PQIP POM-VLAD programme and the new PQIP quality improvement dashboards. POM-VLAD will provide near-real time, risk-adjusted postoperative morbidity data for all colorectal surgery patients recruited to PQIP. The new dashboards will support implementation of DrEaMing and tracking other important data for all patients recruited into PQIP.

Register free to join our quarterly, collaborative webinar series. Everyone in the perioperative team is welcome!
