Biography
Qualified as a doctor at London Hospital Medical College, University of London in 1989. Surgical training in Southwest and Northwest London and at the Royal London, St Mary's, Charing Cross, Hammersmith and St Mark's Hospitals. Masters Degree with Distinction in Surgical Science in 1995 at University College London with a thesis on adrenergic blockade of anal sphincter in patients with anal fissure and controls. Multiple papers on anal fissure, pilonidal sinus and bowel cancer. Appointed consultant surgeon at Ipswich Hospital in 2001. Member of Department of Health Quality Surveillance team. Ipswich Hospital General Surgery Lead and Anal cancer lead. Also practises at the Nuffield Hospital Ipswich and the Oaks Hospital, Colchester.
