The Royal College of Physicians invites application from persons interested in taking up the role of Chair, for the Joint Advisory Group on GI Endoscopy (JAG).

JAG: Joint Advisory Group on GI Endoscopy The JAG is a multi-stakeholder body hosted at the Royal College of Physicians, and provides UK-wide support for endoscopy services to ensure that they have the skills, resources and motivation necessary to provide the highest quality of patient-centred care. The Chair provides the leadership, direction and strategy for the JAG. The Chair will be expected to maintain and enhance the national and international reputation of the JAG and to ensure its proper governance. The Chair will ensure that patients and all relevant stakeholder bodies and professions are represented on the JAG Committee and are able to contribute to the development of the JAG. The appointment will be for two years, renewable for a further two years by agreement and will be remunerated on a sessional basis of one PA per week, in line with national consultant pay rates.

Interview for short-listed applicants will be held at the Royal College of physicians in London on the afternoon of Friday 2 September 2016. Please ensure you have agreement from your trust for the requisite time commitment of the role. It is intended that the successful applicant will take up the post on 1 October 2016 and attend the JAG Committee Meeting on 4 October 2016 at the RCP in London to allow a period of overlap and handover from the current Chair to ensure a seamless transition of work in progress.
