This multidisciplinary study day is being delivered by MASIC, a charity committed to supporting women who have experienced anal sphincter injuries in childbirth. Central to this aim is the education of professionals about the prevention and management of these injuries and to provide insight into the holistic care needs of women who experience them. The programme will start with an overview of Obstetric Anal Sphincter Injury (OASI) and follow the patient care pathway from prevention and detection of injuries to secondary surgical management and subsequent pregnancies. Presentations will draw on the diverse range of professional roles required to coordinate and deliver effective and individualised care. The study day is open to patients and professionals, with particular relevance to students and registered professionals in midwifery, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, obstetrics, urogynaecology and pelvic floor surgery, among others. The study day is run in collaboration with the University of East Anglia, Norfolk & Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain & Ireland. 6 CPD Points Registration Fee: £20 £10 for pre-registration healthcare professional students Free to MASIC Mothers Includes lunch and refreshments
