EYCN is proud to offer a structured, accredited mentorship programme rooted in quality, professionalism, and care.

  • Accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC)—Europe’s most established mentoring body
  • Delivered in collaboration with a professional mentoring company
  • Training for mentees: One 3-hour virtual session
  • Training for mentors: Three 4-hour virtual sessions
  • Mentors can pursue EMCC individual accreditation upon completing training and mentoring experience

Our programme includes:

  • A mentoring agreement and ethics code to safeguard integrity and confidentiality
  • A clear escalation process for any concerns, ensuring professional standards
  • Matching based on mentee priorities including subspecialty and geographical preferences
  • Emphasis on non-clinical consultant development—including job planning, appraisal, managing complaints, and more

This isn’t just mentorship—it’s leadership and professional development designed for the realities of early consultant life.

Get Involved: 2025–2026 Cohort

Applications open September 2025
We welcome:

  • ST8 senior trainees
  • Post-CCT colorectal fellows
  • Consultants within their first five years of practice

Application Process:

  1. Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI)
  2. Complete a short application and rank your mentorship preferences
  3. Attend a mandatory half-day virtual training workshop and attendance at two face-to-face events
  4. Enter a 1-year mentorship contract
