Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common tumour in men and the second in women, accounting for 10% of all tumour types worldwide. Incidence is 25% higher in males and differs greatly between countries. INCIDENCE AND EPIDEMIOLOGY
Anal cancer is a rare disease that accounts for <1% and <3% of all new cancer diagnoses and gastrointestinal tumours,
respectively. The most common histological subtype is squamous-cell carcinoma of the anus (SCCA) with an
