We are pleased to invite you to 2023 BASO Annual Scientific Conference and Trainees Meeting at the prestigious venue of The Law Society in London on 6th-7th November.

The theme for this year’s meeting is Clinical and Research Excellence in Surgical Oncology. We have assembled a distinguished line up of national and international experts in the field of cancer surgery to facilitate an excellent program.

This includes esteemed guest speakers such as Miss Rachel Hargest, Professor John Marks from the USA, Professor Susan Moug, Professor Isabel-Teresa Rubio from Spain, Professor Paul H. Sugarbaker from the USA, Professor Lynda Wyld, Professor Shafi Ahmed and many others. BASO Meeting is open to all those trainees, consultants, allied healthcare professionals, nurses and medical students who wish to gain an insight in how to advance their surgical careers. 

The meeting is designed to provide a unique environment for interdisciplinary learning and cross-fertilisation of ideas, by bringing together delegates from all cancer disciplines and offering excellent networking opportunities.

There will be opportunities to participate in symposia, debate sessions, roundtable discussions, and prestigious plenary award orations. Attendees will also have the chance to engage with keynote speakers and award recipients, making for an unparalleled networking experience.

The upcoming BASO Trainees Day will be taking place virtually on November 5th and will merge with the in-person meeting on the 6th. The program is designed to support to the educational needs of our junior colleagues, and will include interactive sessions, case-based discussions, and other activities. We will also be hosting abstract prize sessions for our trainees, medical students, and AHP colleagues.

Our aim is to create an environment that fosters interdisciplinary learning and crossfertilization of ideas by bringing together experts from all cancer disciplines. We can’t wait to welcome you to the 2023 BASO Scientific Meeting.

Join us for our Annual Dinner at the Grade II Listed Building with many historic features such as identical lions designed by Alfred Stevens, rescued from the British Museum.
