The first of our Webcasts “Are we human?’ explores how we can bring our best selves to deliver great surgical care for our patients. We are ordinary people doing extraordinary jobs and have normalised highly stressful situations. In order to deliver expert technical surgical care and laser focused decision making in the era of personalised health we need to ensure that our surgeons are in the correct frame of mind to achieve excellence.
We will discuss interpersonal relationships and working in high functioning teams, using stress as an adaptive response to improve performance as well as looking at resilience building when burnout is a recognised problem in our workplace.
