The UK does not routinely use preoperative oral antibiotics to prepare the bowel prior to elective colorectal surgery despite large US trials suggesting we should. There is great interest in the UK in introducing this practice but there is no uniform view on how to go about this. This meeting will bring together leaders in colorectal surgery, microbiology and enhanced recovery after surgery along with two world experts on the microbiome with the aim of introducing preoperative oral antibiotics into routine UK colorectal practice. The novel interactive format with one world expert quizzing another for the benefit of the audience in an attempt to drive home the message and explore the issues in depth with one entire afternoon dedicated to one important topic. *Following registration you will be contacted appropriately by email with; your booking confirmation, feedback survey and attendance certificate
