It will also cover challenging cases, difficulties encountered at surgery, and potential treatment strategies. The presentation will include key aspects of management of early and advanced appendiceal tumours that are relevant to surgeons in training, general, and colorectal surgeons.

The first plenary on Wednesday 8th July 2020 at 3pm opened with the final TIME talk from Tamzin Cuming on “An eagle's eye, a lion's heart, and a lady's hand”. The Research Symposium followed and the session closed with the Dukes' Keynote Lecture from Nancy Baxter, Toronto & Melbourne entitled “Reflections on a career training tomorrow’s colorectal surgeons”.

The second plenary on Tuesday 7th July 2020 at 5pm begun with a TIME talk from Angus Watson entitled “Home sweet FitHome” before a symposium on International Perspectives on Colorectal Recovery with Patricia Sylla, New York, Antonino Spinelli, Milan and Omar Faiz, London. The plenary closed with the BDRF Keynote Lecture on “Harnessing the power of digital technology for surgical patients” from Simon Bach.

The second plenary on Monday 6th July at 5pm opened with a TIME talk from Jared Torkington called “Walking on the moon”. The Getting It Right in Rectal Cancer Symposium followed and included a live talk on lateral pelvic lymph node dissection from international guest speaker Alexander Heriot, Melbourne. The session rounded off with the Colorectal Disease Keynote Lecture from Editorial Board member Eva Angenete, Gothenburg on “Functional Outcomes after Rectal Cancer Treatment”.
