Biography
I am a surgical trainee registrar in the East of England deanery with a background in general surgery training from India, where I developed broad operative experience before moving to the UK. I have completed the MRCS and continue to expand my skills in colorectal and general surgery through active clinical involvement and reflective practice. I am also an ATLS-certified instructor, which has strengthened my approach to trauma management and surgical education.
Academically, I have maintained a consistent interest in research and teaching. I have six PubMed-indexed publications, multiple national and international presentations—including EAES 2022 and 2023—and have been awarded a national prize for my work. I also hold a comprehensive surgical logbook that reflects a wide range of operative exposure and ongoing skill development.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I served as the General Secretary of the Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD), where I was responsible for resident welfare, quarantine coordination, and liaising with hospital administration and government authorities. This role was deeply formative in shaping my leadership, communication, and organisational abilities.
I have remained actively involved in teaching and training, including undergraduate and postgraduate examination preparation, OSCE case writing, departmental inspection processes, and rota management. I have also contributed to surgical education events such as the FALS Hernia workshop.
Outside my clinical responsibilities, I enjoy trekking—having completed around 30 treks in the Sahyadri mountains—and I am learning Hindustani classical vocal music, which helps maintain balance and perspective. My wife and I are both surgical trainees in the UK, committed to long-term training and development within the NHS.
I am grateful for the opportunities I have received and remain dedicated to developing as a safe, skilled, and compassionate surgeon with a strong interest in education, leadership, and collaborative practice.
