Biography
A general and colorectal surgeon with over a decade of experience in both clinical and academic practice, trained initially at Cairo University, Egypt, and later in the UK. The career journey has included comprehensive exposure to a wide range of surgical subspecialties, supported by postgraduate qualifications including a Master’s and Ph.D. in General Surgery.
Since 2019, work in the NHS has focused on general and emergency surgery, culminating in the award of FRCS in both General and Colorectal Surgery in 2023. A fellowship at University Hospital Southampton offered advanced training in colorectal cancer surgery, minimally invasive techniques, and multidisciplinary care.
Appointed as a Consultant in Acute and General Surgery at UHS in 2024, the current role involves leading care across elective and emergency settings, including trauma, emergency abdominal conditions, and colorectal surgery. The approach to practice remains rooted in evidence-based care, collaboration, and continuous improvement, with a commitment to surgical education and service development.
