Biography
I entered medicine as a mature student after a career in the molecular biology of paediatric muscle diseases. I completed specialist training in General and Colorectal Surgery in 2016. During training, I also gained level 4 competencies for common procedures in paediatric surgery. My pre-clinical background in research has equipped me to bring a scientific approach to clinical governance and surgical practice. I maintain a keen interest in teaching and patient safety, striving to ensure a just culture within the NHS. I have a proven track record of national and international presentations and publications, both from my previous career in molecular research and in surgery. My current practice is focussed on the treatment of benign anorectal disease and reconstruction of complex abdominal hernias.
