Biography
I undertook my higher surgical training in the Southwest of England before being appointed as a Consultant General Surgeon with a special interest in Colorectal Surgery at the BRI in October 2011.
I completed a one year fellowship in Edinburgh colorectal unit to gain specialist training in the management of complex colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and ileo-anal pouch surgery. I also completed a six months fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer and IBD.
My main interest is in the management of colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease including laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer and IBD. I also offer THD and Halo procedure for Haemorrhoids. My routine practice includes Colonoscopy, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy,Laparoscopic surgery for Colorectal Cancer and Inflammatory Bowel Disease and diverticular disease, diagnosis and treatment of Anal Fistula, Pilonidal Sinus, Anal Fissure
and repair of groin and incisional hernia
I have an interest in medical education and training and have been speciality tutor for surgery at University Hospitals Bristol for last three years.
