Biography
I am a General Surgeon trained at Madras Medical College, India. During my surgical residency, I became well versed with emergency and elective colorectal surgery. Most of my elective work covered proctology- hemorrhoids, fissures, fistulae, and emergency work involved laparotomies, resections, stomas and abscesses. Apart from operative work, I have vast experience in outpatient evaluation, where I used to see nearly 200 patients in a very busy clinic on a daily basis, at least 50% of which were colorectal. My vested interest is in colorectal surgical oncology, peritoneal surface malignancy in particular. I have worked in a busy oncology centre- Apollo Cancer centre, Chennai, where I have assisted in a variety of colorectal malignancy surgeries, including robotic resections. I also have significant experience in peritoneal surgery and intraperitoneal therapy, including PIPAC. I presently work at Barts Health- Royal London as a clinical research fellow. I intend to further my training in colorectal surgery, specifically cancer surgery and advanced peritoneal malignancy.
