Biography
Mr Lovegrove studied medicine at King's College London, qualifying in 2000. He undertook a period of research at Imperial College London and was awarded an MD in 2010. He completed his surgical training in Oxford before undertaking Fellowships in inflammatory bowel disease surgery in Oxford and in colorectal surgery in Toronto. He helped establish the National Ileal Pouch Registry, assessing outcomes after this operation. In addition to the management of colorectal cancer, his main interests are in the surgical management of inflammatory bowel diseases, with skills in pouch surgery and pouch salvage surgery, and intestinal failure.
