Biography
I have been a Consultant Surgeon at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge since 1999. I won a Scholarship to Balliol College, Oxford where I was at medical school from 1979 to 1985. My medical training has been in Oxford, London, Yorkshire and the USA. I have worked in a number of District General Hospitals, Teaching Hospitals and Specialist units and have had a broad training in general surgery. I spent three years in research investigating hereditary colorectal cancer leading to a doctoral thesis. My final year of training was as a Clinical Fellow in the twin cities of Minneapolis and St Paul, Minnesota where I worked with one of the largest groups of colorectal surgeons in the world.
