Biography
My work centres on how surgical evidence is generated, interpreted, and implemented in practice, particularly within complex, technology-enabled health systems. I am interested in the interface between rectal cancer surgery, clinical trial methodology, and the use of data to inform decision-making and service design. Current areas of focus include adaptive platform trial development, integration of national audit data with perioperative workflows, and the evolution of decision-support tools and robotic training pathways.
I have experience across robotic programme implementation, early-stage surgical device development, and AI-enabled clinical systems. Alongside clinical and academic work, I advise on GLP-compliant preclinical studies for surgical technologies, as well as early-phase clinical and real-world evaluations to support safe adoption within health systems. I contribute to national surgical activity through roles with the National Bowel Cancer Audit, the Royal College of Surgeons of England Innovation Hub, the Association of Surgeons in Training, and the CORESS Patient Safety Group
