Biography

Jon Hardman is a Consultant Surgeon based at Mid Cheshire NHS Foundation Trust, specialising in laparoscopic general and colorectal surgery, including treating bowel cancer. As the Lead Surgeon for Colorectal services at Mid Cheshire NHS Foundation Trust, Jon works closely within a team of multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure high quality and safe patient care. Jon has an interest in laparoscopic and other ‘minimally invasive’ surgical treatments for a wide range of disorders involving the gastrointestinal tract, in particular those affecting the colon, rectum and anus, including haemorrhoids and other causes of rectal bleeding. Jon graduated from the University of Manchester in 1996 and continued his surgical training in the North West of England, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2007. Jon has an interest in research and training, having presented his research at international meetings, he was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from the University of Manchester in 2010. Jon has also undertaken a prestigious Royal College of Surgeons of England National Fellowship in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery. Jon has an excellent safety record for patients undergoing major bowel cancer surgery under his care, which is published each year by the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland.
