Biography
I qualified from Oxford University in 1992 and was appointed as a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University Hospitals Leicester in 2009.
Basic surgical training was undertaken in Nottingham, Leicester and as a Clinical Lecturer in the Nuffield Department of Surgery, Oxford University where I also held the post of Surgeon-Scientist.
I have a strong academic background and was awarded a DPhil from Oxford University in 2004. In 2008 I was also selected as an International Guest Scholar for the American College of Surgeons.
During my training I had the opportunity to spend time in the USA, France, Netherlands and Japan.
