Biography

Jonathan van Dellen is a Consultant Colorectal and General surgeon based at Croydon University Hospital. He undertook his surgical training in London and South West Thames Deanery, followed by a Post-CCT Fellowship at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospitals providing experience in pelvic floor disorders, inflammatory bowel disease and recurrent and locally advanced rectal cancer. He was awarded an MD (Res) higher degree from Kings College London for research into Enhanced Recovery After Surgery protocols and patient outcomes in colorectal surgery. He has a special interest in pelvic floor disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease and complex proctology including anal fistulas and pilonidal sinuses. In addition, he works in close collaboration with the multidisciplinary abdominal wall reconstruction and endometriosis teams. He has a keen interest in training junior doctors and allied health professionals and is an ATLS instructor.
