Biography
I completed my training in the Wessex region including a PhD in molecular oncology at the University of Southampton. As an academic trainee my research was supported by CRUK and MRC fellowships, and a clinical lectureship from the NIHR.
As a Fulbright Fellow I spent time at the MD Anderson Cancer Centre in Houston conducting post-doctoral research into biological mechanisms of colorectal cancer progression. I also undertook a post-CCT Fellowship at the Royal Marsden Hospital, focused on Robotic surgery and pelvic exenteration for locally advanced rectal cancer.
My other interests include surgical education, (I have established a number of training courses locally and internationally) and surgery in resource poor settings.
I was appointed as a consultant in colorectal and general surgery a RUH Bath in 2019.
