Biography
I grew up in Austria before moving to the UK in 2009, completing an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry followed by a postgraduate medical degree at St George’s, University of London (2016). After Foundation Training in the East of England, I worked as a Clinical Fellow in General Surgery at Addenbrooke’s Hospital alongside anatomy demonstrating at the University of Cambridge. I subsequently undertook Core Surgical Training in the South East Midlands, including a year in Colorectal and Hepatobiliary Surgery at the University Hospitals of Leicester.
I am now a Higher Surgical Trainee in the North West London Deanery with the career aim of subspecialising in colorectal surgery, focusing on robotic rectal cancer resections and complex abdominal wall reconstruction. Alongside this, I am undertaking a PhD at Imperial College London under Professor Gina Brown, investigating imaging and biomarker-based strategies to optimise rectal cancer management.
