About ACPGBI
The ACPGBI is to appoint a Tutor for Education. This initiative will enhance the remit of our organisation, benefitting our patients and the public with up to date Coloproctology training and education so that our members and trainee surgeons are better informed about our specialty. We therefore call for applications for this post, which will play an important part in the promulgation and reach of our core values. The post will be for three years renewable annually thereafter for a further three, but will be reviewed initially at a year. It will carry remuneration for one PA per week payable to the Trust or to the individual if retired. It is envisioned that any applicant will have a strong interest in education with experience in developing and running educational activities. Applicants should be a Consultant in post for at least 5 years. Applicants should be an Ordinary member of the ACPGBI.   Any applicant will be expected: -To work closely with the Education and Training Chairman and Committee and will be answerable to Council -To consult with the membership and with the Dukes’ club as to the requirements and aspirations for educational activities in Coloproctology -To develop Educational Courses, coordinate the running of such courses and make sure that they are fit for purpose both educationally and financially -To engage with educational courses that currently exist and if offered and appropriate, facilitate their take over and ongoing management, as well as utilise their current resources -To develop a robust system of quality assurance so that all educational activities meet modern educational criteria -To develop the current web based educational framework Application should be by a statement of up to 500 words accompanied by a CV of no more than 2 pages sent to Anne O’Mara at admin@acpgbi.org.uk Interviews will be held.
