Join a Pioneering Collaborative Initiative
Deadline: By Midnight Sunday 7th June 2026
20 May 2026

The ACPGBI and the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE) are establishing the ColoREctal Surgical Collaborative for ENDOmetriosis (CRESCENDO) – a joint working group dedicated to advancing the management of severe endometriosis.
This is your opportunity to shape the future.
Why This Matters
- Endometriosis affects 10% of women, with bowel involvement in 5-12% of cases
- Currently NO consensus guidelines on surgical management approaches
- Colorectal surgeons are mandatory in BSGE centres but lack formal recognition
- No structured training pathways or accreditation for colorectal endometriosis specialists
Working Group Objectives
- Develop joint ACPGBI/BSGE position statements and clinical guidelines
- Establish accreditation and recognition for "Endometriosis Specialist Colorectal Surgeons"
- Create structured training curricula and educational pathways
- Standardise surgical decision-making frameworks (shave vs. disc vs. resection)
- Contribute to BSGE accreditation criteria and quality standards
- Support national audit and evidence generation initiatives
Who Should Apply
- Colorectal surgeons working in or interested in BSGE-accredited endometriosis centres
- Members with experience in complex pelvic surgery and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Clinicians passionate about advancing benign colorectal disease management
- Trainees and consultants committed to developing this subspecialty
