An exciting opportunity has become available for a robotic surgery fellowship based in Glasgow, commencing in April 2026

This post has arisen following the early consultant appointment of a previously selected fellow to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary — a testament to the programme’s calibre and career impact.

This fellowship is part of a competitive scheme delivered across selected training centres, supported by the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI).

✅ Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must:

  • Have attained/passed FRCS
  • Be a member of ACPGBI or The Dukes’ Club
  • Demonstrate Level 4 competencies as required for CCT
  • Outline clear plans to advance robotic practice post-fellowship
  • Commit to submitting a report and providing a logbook of procedures performed after the fellowship

📅 Key Information:

  • Start Date: April 2026
  • Duration: 6 months
  • Fellowship Sites: Glasgow (this post only)
  • Funding: Includes salary at the level commensurate with year of training

Selection: Based on shortlisting and interview
The ACPGBI will appoint up to four fellows in total:

Two fellows starting October 2025 (appointed)

Two fellows starting April 2026 (including this Glasgow-based post)

During their fellowship year, fellows will receive:

  • Complimentary registration to the ACPGBI Annual Meeting
  • Access to the Advanced Coloproctology Course
