In January 2025, Colorectal Disease changes to a ‘continuous publication’ model; instead of monthly issues being compiled by the editorial and production teams, papers will be automatically published directly in the current open ‘issue’ as soon as production is complete.

Each month’s issue will close on a cut-off date, after which the next issue will open.

The continuation of monthly issues, as well as ad hoc special themed issues, should group publications in an intuitive and manageable way and maintain the experience of accessing a journal that publishes material relevant to its audience. The other advantage for authors is that their papers will be citeable at a much earlier stage
