About ACPGBI

GMC Specialist Applications Associate

As a clinician I know you are only too aware of, and experienced personally, the significant pressure the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent recovery has placed on healthcare professionals. This has been felt too by clinical colleagues undertaking work for their royal college or faculty and has had a real impact on the CESR process and the timeliness of the decisions we issue.

An opportunity has arisen for recently successful CESR applicants to undertake work completing CESR evaluations by becoming a GMC Specialist Applications Associate.

If you’re a practising consultant this respected role in healthcare regulation offers you the opportunity to make a major impact on maintaining the integrity of the specialist register. Enjoying the flexibility to meet your current commitments, you could help increase accessibility of the specialist register.

When a doctor has not completed specialist training in the UK, but believe they have the knowledge, skills and experience to enter the specialist register, they may apply on the basis of holding competencies gained in an equivalent way. Our Specialist Applications Associates assess the portfolio of evidence applicants provide to demonstrate this, and write a report, giving their recommendation of whether they should be entered on to the specialist register or not.

If this opportunity is of interest or you would like to know more please see information and apply at:
