Report of the ACPGBI Mersey chapter meeting held Monday 18th May 2020
Mersey Chapter Representative Nicola Eardley hosted a virtual Chapter meeting on Monday 18th May.
The programme included ACPGBI President, Nicola Fearnhead, with an update on colorectal surgery during COVID-19, Amir Montazeri, Consultant Oncologist from the Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology outlining changes in oncological management during the pandemic, Chris Barben, Chair of Merseyside & Cheshire Cancer Alliance CQG explaining local systems in place for managing patients with colorectal cancer, and Deena Harji, Dukes Club President and Trainee Coloproctologist of the Year, talking on the challenges and opportunities in training.
There was then the opportunity for a Q&A session with the panel members. The chapter members have been given the opportunity to provide feedback on the meeting and make suggestions for future meetings.
