The Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain & Ireland invites applications for the Young Coloproctologist of the Year award for 2017.

This award aimed at exceptional young coloproctologists is designed to identify and highlight colorectal trainees nationally who have been outstanding throughout their training and have shown excellence in the areas of research and academia, leadership or education and training. This initiative provides a platform to recognise and encourage talent amongst colorectal trainees. Applicants must be trainees ST7 and above who hold a national training number and are a member of the ACPGBI. They must also be supported by an ordinary member of the ACPGBI. The successful applicant will be awarded free registration for the 2017 ACPGBI annual meeting (3-5 July 2017 in Bournemouth) and receive a certificate at the awards ceremony on 4 July. The closing date for applications is 2nd March 2017. Update 12 April 2017 ACPGBI is proud to sponsor the second award of Young Coloproctologist of the Year award. Applications were again very strong, bearing testament to the high quality of senior trainees in colorectal surgery. The applications are marked to strict criteria in the fields of leadership, research, education and training by our CEA Awards Committee. The shortlisted finalists for 2017 are: ·         Anil George ·         Lyndsay Pearce Interviews will take place during the Motorway Course on 20-21 April 2017 in Bristol and the winner will be announced shortly afterwards.
