About ACPGBI
On Thursday 30th August, the new ACPGBI and BDRF websites will replace the existing one which has served us well since 2007. This project has taken 9 months and incorporated extensive 'user experience' analysis to make sure the new sites are attractive as well as being up to date and easy to use. The new ACPGBI website has all the content of the old one as well as a new section for patients and the public. The same re-design has been completed for the The Bowel Disease Research Foundation (BDRF) which now has its own website at www.bdrf.org.uk. The ACPGBI has also taken a decision to create and control its own membership database in place of the existing system run by the Association of Surgeons. This project is currently in its early stages but will have several key benefits, all linked to the website and available for members only:
  • 'find a specialist' for the public
  • members profiles
  • e-newsletters
  • online membership application
  • access to presentations from ACP meetings
  • online library of photographs
I would like to thank Anne O'Mara and the Council of ACPGBI for their support and contributions to this project. In particular I would like to thank Chris Macklin for his invaluable work on the old site and his ongoing expertise in IT for the new one. Please contact me if you have any comments or suggestions on the new website. Mark Coleman Chairman, External Affairs Committee
