I am a highly trained Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgeon. I have completed my higher surgical training in the East of England (Cambridge) region and was awarded certificate of completion of training (CCT) in September 2010 working in various specialties of surgery and certified specialist training in colorectal surgery. Since finishing my training, I have done fellowship in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery and have been appointed in the NHS as a consultant since 2011.
I have performed more than 400 open and more than 400 laparoscopic colorectal operations with good surgical and oncological outcomes comparable to national standards. I have been JAG accredited since 2011 and have performed more than 3000 colonoscopies with a completion rate of more than 96%. I have completed Training the Trainers course in colonoscopy from St. Mark’s hospital London and have been accredited by JAG as a trainer.
During my previous consultant jobs at The Royal Marsden, St Mark’s & Hinchingbrooke hospitals, I followed the enhanced recovery programme, performed new procedures like TEO/TEMS, HALO and have been performing laparoscopic and open surgery for primary and advanced colorectal cancers, surgery for inflammatory bowel disease and Pouch surgery. I have now moved to West Hertfordshire hospitals NHS Trust since May 2016 for wider experience and to accept new challenges.
