Oliver Warren is Clinical Director of Colorectal Surgery at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He has an interest in colorectal cancer, particularly advanced or recurrent malignancy, minimal access surgery and complex abdomino-pelvic surgery including abdominal wall reconstruction. He chairs the Complex Abdominal Wall Reconstruction MDT and is the lead colorectal surgeon in the Endometriosis MDT.
Prior to becoming a consultant surgeon he undertook colorectal surgery fellowships at St. Mark's Hospital, London and the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. In 2013 he was the Association of Coloproctology's visiting fellow at the Cleveland Clinic, USA. In 2012 he was awarded the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland's Gold Medal for outstanding performance in the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons examination.
Oliver is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial College London and has co-authored over a 100 scientific papers and book chapters on surgery, medical leadership, and patient safety. From 2007 to 2014 he was the founder and clinical director of Prepare to Lead, a prize-winning leadership development mentoring programme commissioned by NHS London. He has worked in advisory roles to public, private and third sector organisations at national, regional and local levels since 2008.
