Andrew Miles trained in London at undergraduate and post graduate level, worked in Australia as a travelling fellow in 1993 and completed his training in Wessex in 1998. Since then he has worked as a consultant colorectal surgeon in Winchester and has a national reputation for high quality surgery and innovation in surgical practice. He is the lead clinician for colorectal cancer in Winchester. He has held a number of additional professional roles including General Surgery Training Programme Director for Wessex and is currently a member of the Specialty Advisory Committee in General Surgery and a Director of Professional Affairs at the Royal College of Surgeons in London. He is the course lead for the MS coloproctology degree for the University of East Anglia, a member of the question bank panel for the Intercollegiate FRCS exam and associate professor of St George's University Medical School, Grenada. He was the ACPGBI regional council member for Wessex from 2011-14 and is now a member of the ACPGBI independent heathcare committee.
