Mr Chris Newman
I qualified from Nottingham University Medical School in 1996 and completed my basic surgical training in the South West at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton.
At the end of 2000 I entered a period of clinical research into the investigation pathways for none fast track colorectal referrals and patient satisfaction with the process which resulted in the award of my Doctor of Medicine.
I spent my higher surgical training in Wessex rotating around several centres including Southampton University Hospital and North Hampshire Hospital Basingstoke.
After the completion of my surgical training in 2010 I entered into a 6 month ACPGBI/ALS/Ethicon laparoscopic colorectal fellowship at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham.
I commenced my consultant post at Airedale General Hospital in 2011. I have a diverse practice covering colorectal disease in addition to general surgery. The majority of my surgery is laparoscopic and includes the management of colorectal cancer.
I was the Clinical Director for General Surgery and Urology at Airedale NHSFT (February 2013 - May 2016) and work exclusively within the NHS.
