Fellowships

An increasing number of trainee colorectal surgeons are interested in taking up out-of-programme experience (OOPE) during or after completion of their training. In response to this ACPGBI offers a number of annual fellowship opportunities in colorectal surgery at centres in Europe and overseas.

Fellowships

Travelling fellowships to Australia, Europe and USA

Three travelling fellow programmes are offered: one to Australia, one to Europe and one to the USA. ACPGBI fellowships are usually advertised in August each year.

The successful applicants will:

  • be a member of ACPGBI
  • be committed to a career in colorectal surgery
  • have obtained a CCST, or equivalent, within 5 years or less of the application deadline.

Travelling fellowships from Eastern Europe

ACPGBI has recently established fellowships to enable two doctors currently practising in Eastern Europe to visit colorectal centres in the United Kingdom and Ireland over a two week period, and attend the ACPGBI Annual Meeting.

The current programme is open. The closing date for applications for 2018 TBC.
