About ACPGBI
The Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI), in association with the publisher, Wiley-Blackwell, is seeking to appoint an Editor-in-Chief to succeed Professor R John Nicholls who is due to step down at the end of 2014. The Editor-in-Chief will be responsible for managing the peer review process for all contributions delegating manuscripts to the appropriate Editor for review by appropriately qualified and experienced persons, communicating with authors, accepting or rejecting manuscripts or requesting revisions in response to peer reviewers’ reports and editorial comments. In addition, the Editor-in-Chief will be expected to initiate and drive the overall strategy for the future and on-going development of Colorectal Disease and, in association with both the Association and publisher, to promote and publicize the journal worldwide. The term of office will be for 5 years, renewal by mutual consent for a further 2 years. The position carries an honorarium and travel grant, and is further supported by a fully-functional Editorial Office run by the publisher. Applications should be sent to the Chairman of the ACPGBI Journal Committee, Professor John Beynon (johnbeynon56@doctors.org.uk) and should include a statement of not more than 500 words outlining the applicant’s vision for the journal and where he/she sees Colorectal Disease in five years’ time.
