Education and Training Committee

The Education and training Committee is one of the longest established committees of the Association of Coloproctology and was set up to consider all issues relating to education and training in coloproctology. This includes setting up a number of initiatives in training, some of which have been adopted by other speciality organisations.

The Committee meets regularly (at least 5 times a year) by telephone conference to discuss a variety of issues relating to education and training. This includes formulating responses to any new development in surgical education as well as looking at means of improving education and training within coloproctology. The Chairman represents the views of the Committee on the Executive and Council of the Association of Coloproctology.

Committee Members:

The majority of members of the Committee are elected by the Council of the Association. These posts are popular and there are usually more people willing to serve on the Committee than vacant posts. Each member serves for a 3 year term (renewable by election). Other members of the Committee are co-opted from other groups within the Association of Coloproctology.
