Chapter Representative Elections

How do you become Chapter Representative

• Chapter Representatives are elected by the Ordinary Members of each Chapter, initially for a period of three years but are also eligible for re-election for one further period of three years making a maximum of six years served sequentially.

• Six months before the end of their term of office, Chapter Representatives will organise the election of their successors. In the case where the Chapter Representative is seeking a further period of office he/she may ask a deputy to arrange the election.

• Nominations are submitted by Ordinary Members to the Regional Chapter Representative, proposed and seconded with the written consent of the nominees. A postal ballot of the Ordinary Members of the Chapter is organised by the current Chapter Representative in the event of more than one nomination being received.

• The name of the elected member has to be sent to the Honorary Secretary not less than six weeks before the Annual General Meeting.

• In the unlikely event that there is no nomination from a Chapter for a given region, Council is empowered to investigate and fill the vacancy from that region.
